Bub’s at the Ballpark

February 7, 2011

Bub’s at the Ballpark is a new addition to the historical honors of downtown San Diego, East Village and PetCo Park.

Embracing both history and the growing traditions of America’s Finest City, Bub’s was constructed using various architectural salvage from throughout the West coast, including reclaimed wood, scrap metal, and reused brick.

Bub’s is a place where locals and visitors alike enjoy one-of-a-kind entertainment and food. Watch the game on our vast array of plasmas and projectors or take shots on our in-house basketball court in between games of shuffleboard. Relax and sip drinks at one of the community tables or our giant circle bar. Or indulge in some of our famous Lunch Lady Tater Tots or Steaky Steakums at the old school lunch counter or outside on our expansive wooden deck.

Born in 1996, “Another Man’s Stupid Idea of fun” has evolved into Pacific Beach’s and now downtown’s go-to spot for food and fun. Git in here and enjoy, my friends!

East Village’s Cafe Chole

January 31, 2011

Cafe Chole, “where East Village meets Paris chic”. Cafe Chloe was founded by three partners who are passionate about food and wine. They wanted to bring a little French culture to the East Village of San Diego. Pretty and Parisian, it charms as a quiet spot for afternoon coffee and bustles at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, when the kitchen turns out such creative fare as chive French toast topped with cured salmon, a casserole of macaroni, pancetta, and Gorgonzola, and a chicken and mushroom vol-au-vent.

Will East Village Be the New Home of the Chargers’ Stadium?

January 20, 2011

The Chargers wouldn’t mind 30 acres of their own near Petco Park in East Village. The Bolts would like to build a new stadium in the East Village neighborhood but have no plans right now to do so,  said Chargers special counsel Mark Fabiani, who added that there are many other attractive sites in the community as well.  One thing that makes the site very attractive is shared infrastructure, reported 10News.com, which could lower the cost of a new site by $300 million.
